Each year, our HSEQ team and directors set annual targets to drive business improvement. We monitor performance monthly to ensure we remain on track or identify where we are exceeding expectations and constantly share best practice and lessons learnt on a regular basis.
MPB actively encourages observation reporting to learn from incidents that did not result in a loss. These are submitted by the reporter (anonymously if they wish) and are then recorded and categorised. This data is then briefed out to the site teams through the four-weekly Summary Report.
Completing observation reporting not only helps identify trends that need investigating but also raises £1.50 towards our chosen charity for each one (for 2025, a total 11,802 observation reports were submitted, enabling MPB to donate £17,703 to Cambridge Children’s Hospital).
All MPB’s HSEQ managers are trained to carry out alcohol and drugs testing using Lion Intoximeters and Intelligent Fingerprinting equipment, respectively.
We randomly select one project each month for testing, with all safety critical personnel and other random members of the site team being subjected to alcohol and drugs testing.
