MPB Structures is delighted to announce the successful completion of our role in the first phase of the landmark Glasswater Locks development in Birmingham. Beyond the physical construction, we are particularly proud to have delivered a significant number of positive skills and employability outcomes for the local community.
Working in close collaboration with our esteemed client, Berkeley Group, we have actively supported the West Midlands Combined Authority and the pledge made by Mayor Richard Parker to create valuable work placements, apprenticeships, and jobs for local people. Our focus has been to ensure that this major development provides tangible, lasting benefits to the residents of the region.
Throughout this project phase, we successfully provided a range of apprenticeships and crucial work placements, which have in turn led to sustainable employment opportunities. This initiative ensures the project leaves a legacy of skills and economic benefit that will endure long after the construction work is complete.
The success and importance of these programmes have been recognised at the highest levels. We were pleased to see the value of these placements acknowledged by both Rob Perrins, Chief Executive of Berkeley Group, and The Rt Hon Rachel Reeves MP, highlighting the significance of our collective efforts at both an industry and national level.
