MPB Structures Ltd is pleased to announce its sponsorship of this year’s CONSTRUCT Principal’s Lunch. The prestigious event will be held at the Royal Automobile Club on Pall Mall, London, on Friday 12th June.
Purpose of the Event
The primary objective of the Principal’s Lunch is to bring together leading figures from across the concrete structures sector. This annual gathering provides a vital forum for industry leaders to discuss the most pressing topics, developments, and challenges currently facing the membership.
Addressing Key Sector Challenges
The concrete structures sector is currently confronting a multitude of interconnected challenges. These issues range from navigating the statutory requirements of the Building Safety Act and the Gateway Approval process, to managing volatile energy costs and the planned introduction of tariffs on steel imports.
MPB plays a leading role on the Executive Council of CONSTRUCT and remains a major contributor to addressing these industry-defining issues. Speaking on the potential impact of the proposed steel tariffs, Pat Boyle stated:
‘The potential impact of additional steel tariffs imposed on employers at a time of high economic uncertainty is simply unsustainable for the concrete structures group members. We came together as a sector body, wrote to the government, and have since joined forces with the Construction Leadership Council, Build UK, and the Construction Products Association. We are now participating in a Steel Tariffs Working Group with the Department for Business and Trade.’
