Building on our commitment to social value and local employment, MPB is proud to announce our latest partnership with Growth Path, a Birmingham-based initiative dedicated to helping young people find their footing in the construction industry.
On Thursday 26th February, MPB took a proactive step in this mission by conducting work placement interviews for the next cohort of Growth Path candidates. These placements offer more than just a week on-site; they provide a vital first look at a career in civil engineering and construction, offering “new entrant talent” a chance to gain hands-on experience and bridge the gap between unemployment and a rewarding career.
Supporting the West Midlands Vision
This collaboration aligns directly with West Midlands Mayor Richard Parker’s recent pledge to tackle youth unemployment through the £5 million Youth Trailblazer Fund. By opening our doors to young people from across Birmingham, MPB is helping to ensure that the region’s infrastructure growth also creates a lasting legacy of opportunity for the local community.
Martyn W Price MBE, Business & People Development Director at MPB and a long-standing advocate for vocational training, emphasised the importance of these early-career interventions:
