We are pleased to share the latest progress from our ongoing operations at Upper Brook Street, Manchester. This landmark development continues to advance steadily, and we recently achieved a significant milestone in delivering this transformative project.
A Vision for Regeneration
The Upper Brook Street masterplan is one of Manchester’s most ambitious regeneration schemes. Located within the Oxford Road Corridor, the project is set to provide much-needed purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) and world-class life sciences facilities. Once completed, the development will offer 737 student bedspaces across two principal buildings – standing at 9 and 23 storeys respectively – alongside extensive community spaces and public realm enhancements.
Operational Success on Site
Our involvement in the structural delivery of this scheme reflects our commitment to excellence in reinforced concrete (RC) frames and complex groundwork. After successfully installing the tower cranes and completing the piling phase – which involved installing 219 piles to support the residential structures – the project has moved into the main construction phase.
The recent milestone reached on-site is a testament to the collaborative efforts of our site teams and partners. We are currently focused on progressing the concrete cores, utilising advanced construction techniques to ensure efficiency and precision. The integration of modern methods of construction, including prefabricated elements, remains central to our strategy as we work towards the scheduled completion in 2028.
Commitment to the Community
Beyond the technical achievements, MPB remains dedicated to delivering social value within the Ardwick area. This project is expected to create significant economic growth and employment opportunities for the local community. Through our partnerships and pre-employability initiatives, we continue to support the next generation of talent, ensuring that our presence in Manchester leaves a lasting, positive legacy.
We look forward to maintaining this momentum as we move further into the structural build. We will continue to provide updates as the Upper Brook Street skyline evolves and we reach our forthcoming objectives.
