We are pleased to highlight the ongoing progress at the Edgbaston Stadium redevelopment project in Birmingham, where we are working in close collaboration with the principal contractor, John Sisk & Son. Following the successful completion of the initial demolition phase, the development is advancing steadily into its main structural construction works.
MPB Structures is delighted to be delivering the reinforced concrete framework for this prestigious scheme, which forms a core component of the transformative Edgbaston Masterplan.
Delivering a Modern Sporting and Hospitality Landmark
The £42 million redevelopment will significantly enhance the stadium’s facilities and its long-term contribution to the local economy. Our structural framework supports the delivery of key project features, including:
- Upgraded Spectator Facilities: The construction of a modern, single 3,200-seat stand structure to replace the historic Raglan and Priory stands.
- A New Premier Hotel: The integration of a four-star Radisson RED hotel, complete with dedicated hospitality boxes and pitch-facing rooms overlooking the grounds.
- Community and Economic Legacy: Supporting a project designed to generate permanent local employment and expand the year-round utility of the venue.
Collaborative Engineering
The efficient progression of the substructure and framework works is a direct result of the strong partnership between the MPB and John Sisk & Son delivery teams. By integrating early engineering expertise, clear logistical planning, and rigorous safety standards, we are ensuring the construction programme remains safely on schedule for completion ahead of the summer 2027 international cricket fixtures.
