The facility bought together state of the art creative arts spaces, including music, dance, TV, radio, cinema, and art production areas. A central atrium, feature stair and well positioned lifts created a clear circulation and connectivity, supporting collaborative learning for Film, Music, Performing Arts and Fashion students.

MPB Structures delivered this complex city centre project through precise planning, advanced engineering, and disciplined logistical control on one of the tightest sites in the region.

CHALLENGES / SUCCESSES

Managed high intensity logistics, safely coordinating over 3,500 wagon movements on a constrained city centre site with minimal storage while maintaining uninterrupted access.
Delivered a complex two level basement, using bespoke Super Props, advanced sequencing, and innovative bentonite and Rascor systems to achieve strict Grade 3 waterproofing.
Completed 30,000 m³ of excavation and construction within tight urban boundaries and challenging ground conditions, supported by BIM enabled planning and tailored temporary works to address varied floor heights, staggered slabs, large voids, and feature elements.
Optimised the superstructure through post-tensioned slabs, reducing reinforcement by over 30%, and delivered a 12 storey RC frame with slip formed cores, incorporating more than 10,000 m³ of concrete and 1,600 tonnes of steel to a high architectural finish.
