Eliza Yard & Jersey Wharf

Eliza Yard, located directly across Jersey Street at the corner of Poland Street, was 126 apartments for sale. Both developments included concierge services, outdoor gardens, and secure cycle parking.

Using the Ancoats Mobility Hub for parking enabled Manchester Life’s developments to incorporate 23,000 sq. ft. of new ground floor commercial space. This created valuable spaces for new local businesses, foster active streets as part of the Council’s public realm strategy, and further Ancoats’ growth as a thriving residential community.

CHALLENGES / SUCCESSES

Delivering two high-rise residential towers in the centre of Ancoats regeneration zone required disciplined planning, precise engineering, and coordinated delivery.

  • Navigating a restricted urban footprint, surrounded by live roads, neighbouring developments and masterplan activity, requiring exceptional sequencing and logistics management.
  • Constructing towers above active retail and amenity spaces, managing complex load paths, interface risks and stringent temporary works to ensure safety and structural integrity.
  • Executing slipform core operations and multi-front in-situ frame construction, maintaining continuous precision and consistent quality while working at height.
  • Maintaining programme momentum in a dense mixed use environment, delivering basement, substructure and full superstructure work safely, efficiently and to a high technical standard.

The successful, on time and on budget completion of both towers demonstrate MPB’s capability to deliver complex high-rise schemes with confidence, precision and reliability in challenging urban settings.
