Marston Box

Working collaboratively, MPB led a comprehensive programme optimisation exercise, identifying and implementing a series of innovative buildability and sequencing improvements that reduced the delivery period from 60 weeks to just 43 weeks. Key measures included:

• Pre-fabrication of over 500 tonnes of reinforcement for the deck structure to minimise on-site congestion and shorten critical path activities.
• Off-site fabrication of complex formwork systems, enabling rapid installation and improved quality control.
• Refinement of concrete outlines and detailing to simplify construction and reduce labour-intensive operations.
• Optimised concrete mix designs to accelerate curing and striking times without compromising performance.

Through proactive planning, engineering innovation, and close integration with the BBV delivery team, MPB were able to derisk the programme and ensure the works were completed within the revised accelerated schedule.

Furthermore, MPB Structures received recognition at the esteemed CONSTRUCT Awards, where the company secured the ‘Best of the Sector’ award for its significant contribution to the Marston Box project.
