As well as the apartments, new communal areas were created, including two private dining rooms, resident lounges, pocket parks, and an outdoor events space, providing Leeds with a unique venue that had an elevated vantage point over the rest of the city.

This ambitious scheme demanded precision engineering, innovative construction methods, and disciplined delivery to bring a complex multi-block vision to life in one of the city’s most characterful locations.

The scheme provided a fantastic learning opportunity for entrants into the construction industry, with more than 1,000 weeks of apprenticeship training on site over the course of the build, which equates to 20 years of on-site experience for young people working in the area.

CHALLENGES / SUCCESSES

This project combined a series of complex site constraints and high-rise delivery challenges, balanced by strong planning, innovation, and collaborative execution across all blocks.

Navigating restricted access and tight working areas, the team maintained progress through precise logistics planning, controlled deliveries, and efficient use of limited storage and laydown space.
Coordinating five high-rise blocks simultaneously required rigorous sequencing and close collaboration with multiple contractors to keep overlapping activities safe, aligned, and productive.
Delivering extensive temporary works, including major support solutions for Blocks C and D, enabled safe circulation between structures while keeping Level 1 slab operations on programme.
Innovating with slipform systems and safety screens, improving efficiency on core construction while enhancing worker protection at height, particularly on the tallest blocks.
