MPB Structures were appointed to deliver the full replacement of a key bridge carrying four tracks of the West Coast Main Line over a local access road, an operation demanding precision, planning, and absolute reliability. Our scope included the design and construction of piled retaining walls, followed by the off line fabrication of a 450 tonne replacement bridge deck, engineered for rapid installation. During a tightly controlled possession, the new deck was transported and positioned using SPMTs, enabling a seamless changeover with minimal disruption to rail operations.
The works also included full track removal and reinstatement, temporary support and protection of critical signalling infrastructure, and the safe demolition of the existing structure. This project showcased MPB’s ability to deliver complex, high risk rail infrastructure upgrades with speed, accuracy, and complete confidence.
Collectively, these achievements showcase MPB’s skill in delivering demanding rail infrastructure works with expert management, assured execution, and dependable performance.
